ECB NEWS

ECB & CUSTOM ALLOY – CONSOLIDATING OUR BUSINESS.

As part of the journey to become the World’s Best Bullbar company, and to ensure the ongoing success of the acquisition of Custom Alloy, East Coast Bullbars and Custom Alloy were consolidated into one large manufacturing facility over the Christmas and New Year period.

Some of the challenges facing the team to consolidate ECB & Custom Alloy into a single production facility.

This was no small task at hand. In just 4 weeks we moved everything out of both businesses, piled it all into the car park, then put it all back together again in a new and more efficient layout. As a result, the company had many challenges to overcome, including depletion of stock holding and increased waiting times for new product.

Trevor
Trevor Long, General Manager of the Vehicle Protection Products & Accessories Division of AMA Group Ltd, is keen to utilise the upcoming financial year to “ensure our service level surpasses our previous high standard”. “Our goal is to be the World’s Best Bullbar Company, and we are well on the way to becoming just that”. “The plan is to grow the business, so the move to consolidate ECB and Custom Alloy was a necessary one” states Trevor, “Standardising our business systems and consolidating machinery, skills and knowledge, will set us up for future growth. Our impact on market share will be driving us to be the best we can be and we will be more aggressive and efficient over the coming years to achieve our goals”.

Located in Clontarf, on the Redcliffe peninsula, just North of balmy Brisbane, the consolidation saw many changes and challenges for production teams. Thankfully ECB are now able to announce that the new facility is working well and production is catching up on the demands of the industry. Stock holdings are returning to previous levels and waiting time on frontal protection products, for most current model vehicles, is now reduced to 4-day turnaround.

ECB have been manufacturing bullbars since 1972 and Custom Alloy since 1992. The products are all proudly designed and engineered on site, manufactured from raw materials within the new 12,000 square metre facility.

With the number of new vehicle R&D, as well as production, the business is growing and keeping up with new developments within the motor vehicle industry. Innovations and technologies such as front parking sensors and driver assistance systems are challenges the team are meeting head on with positive results.

ECB strive to deliver to customers the right product, on time, the first time, without any compromise in quality. ECB have developed expertise and wealth of knowledge to design and manufacture quality products, providing a service that is second to none.

Put simply, they love what they do and boldly state to manufacture the ‘World’s Best Alloy Bullbars’.

AND THE WINNER IS!

IMG_9330ECB recently attended the National 4×4 Outdoor Show & Fishing Camping Expo, freezing our butts off at the Melbourne Showgrounds, we are after all from balmy Brisbane. Throughout the show we ran a competition for one lucky person to win a Big Tube™ Bullbar for their vehicle. AND THE LUCKY WINNER IS DARREN MURRAY of Warragul in Victoria, who has gifted the prize to his son Charlie and chosen a Winch Compatible Bar for his Holden Colorado. Congratulations Charlie.

We will hopefully bring you some photos once the bar has been fitted.
